The Elusive Coronado, from Mule Deer Hunt 2008

This is a buck that we discovered while scouting our preseason mule deer hunt for 2008 that we named “Coronado” (the crown buck). Unfortunately, none of our hunters were able to take this buck home. We did find opportunities to shoot at Coronado twice, while in his bed at about 200 yards. But we missed. He then ran over the next ridge and was killed by a DIY hunter. One of our guides is pictured with Coronado below.

We feel fortunate to have hunted such a great buck. However, Non-Typical Outfitters has brought success to many of our client hunters over the years, in their search for the trophy mule deer. I hope the hunter that took Coronado home appreciates how lucky he is.
